HONORS AND ACCOLADES
* Had a breakout game Sept. 22, 2006 when he completed 10-26 passes for 273 yards and three TDs as the Rebels defeated Huntingdon 31-17 for the first time since 2001. It was the first MHS victory at Paul Ward Stadium and the first Rebel win in the city limit of Huntingdon since 1963.
* Had a career best 340 yards passing at Lake County on Oct. 13, 2006. He threw a pair of touchdowns in a key 47-20 Region 7A game at Tiptonville.
* 2006 Tennessee Sports writers Association all-state quarterback as a junior.
* 2007 guided the Rebels to a 13-2 mark, a second-consecutive Region 7A championship and a state runner-up season in the Blue Cross Bowl. Carr was 19-37 passing for 301 yards and three TDs in the state championship game, McKenzie's first in school history.
* 2007 TFCA first-team all-state quarterback. Carr becomes the second Rebel in school history to earn back-to-back all-state honors (Drew Hayes 2003-05).

HIGHLIGHTS
2002
* As a freshman, guided McKenzie from Week 10 of the season to a 3-2 mark and the Class 2A state semifinals
* In 2A quarterfinals vs. Lewis County, Hayes, facing a 13-7 deficit, 87 yards and only 3:33 to play in the game, drove the Rebels the 87 yards with 24 seconds to spare. He helped MHS convert two critical third-down plays and three fourth-down plays before hooking up with Jay Taylor for a 12-yard pass.
2003
* Hayes lit up Camden for a then-record setting 15-25, 312-yard effort in a 46-7 win during Week 2.
* Against Riverside Hayes caught a 44-yard TD pass from Cody Cook in a 42-6 victory.
2004
* Hayes threw for 352 yards during the Class 2A state playoffs against Cheatham County.
* Threw for 304 yards against Adamsville in Week 4 game as MHS won 35-14
2005
* Hayes throws for 479 yards, completes 46-72 passes against Union City
* A week later, he shattered his own marks again, completing 26-39 passes for 528 yards and seven TDs.

HAYES MOVING ON UP: Now that quarterback Drew Hayes has moved into second place on the career passing chart, and has set three state passing marks, he also is on the move in other categories.
He is second statewide in single-season attempts at 371 and third at 363, set as a sophomore and junior, respectively. He also is second in career completions at 630, 12 behind leader Kenton Evans of Westwood (1994). He also is 108 behind Evans in career attempts. Hayes has 1,043 total.
Led McKenzie as an offensive and defensive lineman on the Rebels' state semfinal run both as a junior and a senior. His key block at Waverly in overtime sprung running back Cody Cook for the game-winning touchdown as the Rebels defeated the host Tigers 23-17 in overtime. The Rebels trailed 17-0 at the half of that game.
As a junior, he was a starter on the Rebels' 13-1 team that reached the 2001 Class AA semifinals. He was the lone returning starter on the 2002 Class AA state semifional team.
